Student's Arrest Tied to Friend's Overdose Death at Lewis: Cops ...

A 20-year-old Frankfort woman died of a drug overdose while at a Lewis University dorm this weekend, and the friend with whom she was staying has been arrested for trying to conceal her role in the death, Romeoville police said Monday.

Anna Marinier was found dead at Fitzpatrick Hall at about 11:10 a.m. Sunday, Romeoville Assistant Police Chief Steve Lucchesi said. Although toxicology tests are still pending, it's suspected she overdosed on heroin, he said.

Her friend, Jamie Olson, 21, of 9125 Letterkenny, Tinley Park, was arrested Sunday night on a felony charge of obstruction of justice and booked into the Will County jail.

Citing the "ongoing investigation," Lucchesi declined to disclose what Olson did in terms of obstructing the case other than "she tried to conceal her involvement in this incident."

The two women had been together for most of Saturday night and Sunday morning, but Lucchesi would not say if they were in the dorm for that entire time or if they had gone out and returned. "Some admissions have been made" about the fact that heroin had been involved, but Lucchesi said he could not release any other details.

It's possible that more charges may be forthcoming, he said.

According to jail records, Olson has been arrested at least twice previously. In November 2011, she was charged with misdemeanor identity theft and felony forgery and in April 2012 she was arrested on three counts of felony identification theft stemming from an incident that occurred in September 2011.

Lewis University, based in Romeoville, announced the death on Sunday via its Facebook page but did not reveal the victim's name.

"The Lewis University community expresses its prayerful sympathy to all who are touched by this tragedy, especially family and friends," the Facebook statement said.

Olson was?charged with identity theft and forgery last year in New Lenox. Police said she stole four checks from a New Lenox resident and cashed them for $120 total.?
